The things first-time visitors ask before they order their first keepsake.

The moon on your keepsake

How is the moon calculated so accurately?

The moon phase, illumination percentage, and time zone all come from astronomical algorithms — sun and moon coordinates, geocentric elongation — computed for the exact UTC moment of your event. The same kind of math astronomers use. The image you see on the print is a photograph of that specific phase.

I only know the date, not the time. Is that okay?

Yes — most people remember the night something happened, not the exact minute. We default the time to 8:00 PM in your local time zone, a calm evening hour when the moon is typically visible. You can change it in the editor if you want to. The illumination only shifts by a few percent across an evening, so 8 PM is a fair representative of "the night of" your event.

How do I show the exact time on my moon?

Open the editor's Make It Yours panel, expand Make It Even More Yours, and set the time. A "Show the time on your moon" checkbox sits right below the time fields — it turns on automatically the first time you change the time, so the printed keepsake will include it. You can also toggle the checkbox manually.

Why is the moon "upside down" in the preview?

If you (or your recipient) are in the Southern Hemisphere, the moon appears inverted compared to Northern Hemisphere astronomical references. We rotate the moon image 180° when you select Southern Hemisphere so it matches what you actually see in your sky. Pick whichever matches where you are.

What if the moon phase was different where I was?

The moon's phase is universal—at any exact moment, everyone on Earth shares the same phase. While local details like your hemisphere (which side appears lit) or your exact time and time zone (whether the moon is currently above your horizon) change your specific view, the phase itself remains constant. You can adjust these in the editor to match your exact location.

Designs, products, and options

What's the difference between a design, a product, and an option?

A design is the look — colors, layout, the moon image, your personal message. A product is the physical thing you're buying (an 8×10 plaque, a 12×18 print, and so on). An option is a choice that goes with the product — paper type, frame finish, a Digital Copy add-on. Pick a design first, then a product, then any options.

Why are some products grayed out in the Sizes section?

Some designs only work with certain products — for example, a "Plaque 8×10" design can't be put on a 12×18 print. The editor hides incompatible products to keep the preview from looking wrong. If you have your heart set on a product, pick it first and we'll show you designs that work with it.

What is a "Digital Copy" add-on?

For a small extra price, you can add a downloadable high-resolution JPEG of your moon to any physical print order. The print still goes to the lab as usual; the digital file is emailed to you once the artwork is ready. A nice way to share the moment on social media or use as a phone wallpaper.

What's a digital-only product?

A digital keepsake is just the downloadable image — no print, no shipping. The checkout is shorter (no shipping address needed) and you get the file as soon as the artwork is ready. Great for last-minute gifts or for people who just want the artwork to keep.

Personalizing your keepsake

Can I add a personal message?

Yes. If the design has text fields, you'll see them on the left side of the Make It Yours panel. Click in the editor's canvas to type directly, or use the text boxes in the modal. You can have multiple lines and as much text as the design's text field allows.

What if I leave the personal message blank?

We'll ask you once, gently, before adding to cart. You can go back and fill the message in, or proceed with the field empty. We won't send anything to the lab with placeholder text on it — your keepsake is always exactly what you typed.

Ordering and checkout

Do I need an account to order?

No. You can check out as a guest — no signup, no password. We only need an email address for the order confirmation and shipping updates.

How do I find my order later if I checked out as a guest?

Open the order page from your confirmation email and enter the email address you used at checkout. We'll show you the order. To save the order permanently in an account, click Create Account or Log in on the order page — we'll attach the order to your new account automatically.

Can I claim a guest order with a different email?

Yes. Order ownership is tied to the link in your confirmation email, not to email matching. As long as you have the link, you can sign up with any email and claim the order. It's yours.

How do promo codes work?

Enter the code on the cart or checkout page. The discount applies to the subtotal only (not shipping or tax) and is also passed through to Stripe so you'll see it on the payment page. Most codes are one-time per customer.

What payment methods do you accept?

All major credit and debit cards, processed through Stripe. We don't store your card details — Stripe handles the secure payment and we only see the brand and last four digits after payment.

After you order

When will my order arrive?

Production time is shown on the product page. Once your print ships, we'll email you a tracking number. The order page in your account shows real-time status as it moves from "Order Received" to "Shipped."

How do I track my order?

Click the tracking link in your shipping email, or open the order from your account. The status block on the order page shows every carrier scan.

I got a digital download link — when does it expire?

It doesn't. The link stays active as long as the order is in your account. Re-download any time.

Can I edit my order after I place it?

Once an order is in production, the lab has started printing, so we can't usually change it. If you need to update the address or cancel before production starts, contact us right away.

Things that might surprise you

Why did my product change when I picked a new design?

If the design you picked only works with certain products, the editor automatically switches you to the first compatible product. This keeps the preview honest — you never see a design stretched onto a product it doesn't fit.

Why are some options already checked?

Most options have a sensible default (the most popular paper type, for example) so you can add to cart without thinking about it. Optional add-ons, like the Digital Copy, start unchecked. Click any option to change it; click again to deselect optional ones.
